2008 ACSANZ Conference: Canada in the Asia Pacific

July 1-3, 2008, Brisbane

The Association’s 2008 Biennial Conference will have the over-arching theme of “Canada in the Asia-Pacific” and will feature academic scholarship in a range of disciplines, relevant to Canadian Studies in an Asia Pacific context.

The conference aims to facilitate dialogue on Canadian perspectives on regional issues and profile Canadian strengths in the region.

The conference will also be preceded by a graduate student forum on Canada in the Asia-Pacific, showcasing graduate scholarship from members of ACSANZ and its regional partners in the Pacific Asia Network of Canadian Studies (PANCS).  All conference delegates are invited to attend the forum.

2nd Postgraduate Research on Canada in the Asia-Pacific - Seminar

The second graduate seminar on Canada in the Asia-Pacific will be held in New Delhi on September 3rd, 2007.  Graduate students with an interest in Canadian Studies are invited to attend.  For more information, please contact your local Canadian Studies Association (see list to the left).

About PANCS

Formed in 2006, PANCS brings together the Associations for Canadian Studies in the Asia Pacific region, with the objective of fostering linkages, encouraging new research and developing an Asia Pacific dimension of Canadian Studies.  The structure of PANCS is open and flexible, with a rotating chair drawn from each of the member associations.  Among PANCS's regular activities are meetings of representatives of the member associations, joint events (including conferences, seminars and lecture tours), an annual Asia Pacific seminar on graduate work in Canadian Studies, and publications of proceedings.
